Step 1: Measure Your Product’s Volume
Weigh your product (e.g., 250g of coffee beans).
Place the sample in a makeshift “mock pouch” (e.g., folded paper or a plastic wrap).
Measure the width (W) and height (H) of the wrapped sample.
Step 2: Calculate Base Dimensions
For stand-up pouches, the base width determines stability. A common formula is:
Base Width (B) = Total Width (W) ÷ 2
Example: If your mock pouch measures W=14cm, the base should be 7cm.
Step 3: Add Tolerance for Sealing
Add 1-2cm to the height and width to accommodate heat-sealing and prevent overfilling.
